Carbon Monoxide Rules!

OK, so the title to this post might be a little deceiving. Carbon monoxide (CO) does not rule but there are new laws (aka RULES) regarding carbon monoxide alarms, at least in some states, including California.

Did you know that as of July 1, 2011, single family homes with an attached garage are required to install CO alarms? I live in an apartment, so while this doesn’t apply to me, I can’t help but be concerned since carbon monoxide poisoning is the leading cause of accidental poisoning here in the U.S. I want to make sure my boys are safe and you should want the same for your family, no matter where you reside.

If you have questions about carbon monoxide, as I did, you can check out the FAQ page on the First Alert website for more info, including the causes and sources of CO and detailed instructions on where to install the alarms inside your home.

First Alert sent me a CO alarm for my home and they recommend that alarms be placed on each level of the home and in each sleeping area.

Keep your family safe by purchasing CO alarms for your home and please pass this on to friends and loved ones.
