TOTEM by Cirque du Soleil (giveaway)
It seems every year Cirque du Soleil comes to San Diego with a whole new show. I just realized that I’ve had the pleasure to be in the audience every year since my oldest son was just two years old. He’s 8 now and still enjoys this annual event which has turned into a family tradition for the two of us.
The first time we went, I had no idea what to expect and with my son being so small, I really wasn’t sure we’d last through the entire show. Watching the amazing feats through his eyes was truly spectacular. He ended up standing on my knees the entire time – he was so mesmerized by the performances that he never took his eyes off the stage and the colorful costumes and dazzling lights.
Last year, it was the Wheel of Death that truly struck a chord with him. He talked about that for days after the show and begged me to take him to see it for a second time.
Each and every time I go to a Cirque du Soleil show, I am caught by surprise, holding my breath during some of the most daring performances. I always end up walking away feeling exhilarated and looking forward to the next show.
