Hog Wild Toys

My boys are 8 years apart which makes it really challenging to find toys and activities that they can play with together so I was thrilled when Hog Wild Toys asked me to review their Rapid Fire Power Popper and animal Popper toys.

They sent the Moose Popper, which is adorable. It comes with six soft foam balls that shoot from the critter’s mouth. You squeeze its stomach and the ball shoots across the room – up to 20 feet. The harder you squeeze, the faster and further the ball launches.

My toddler was thrilled when we first tried it out. He chased after each of the balls and returned them to me so we could do it all over again. The next morning, he ran to his toy box and grabbed the moose and the small bag that the balls fit nicely inside, bringing them to me so we could play as soon as he woke up.

Since then, my oldest has been introduced to the Rapid Fire Power Popper – a gun which shoots out the balls by sliding the handle back and forth. He couldn’t quite get the hang of how it worked on his first few attempts and quickly gave up. I couldn’t either. He picked up the Moose Popper instead and still plays with it, taking advantage of his little brother who retrieves the balls for him each time, with much enthusiasm!

I was a bit disappointed that the Moose Popper doesn’t stand up on his feet. It’s top heavy so it doesn’t stand on its own, but it’s still super fun and something we plan on buying for the next birthday or holiday gift (kids of all ages seem to enjoy them). It’s just too hard to pick out which animal to select! There are 7 to choose from, plus a fun pirate popper and political poppers – and they’re only $9.99 each. Score!
