I’ve always known Whole Foods Market has strict guidelines on the foods and products they provide, but until I was invited to learn more about the Whole Body department, it never occurred to me just how many chemicals and unsafe ingredients are often found in skincare and products we use on our body.
Disclosure: This is a sponsored post for Whole Foods Market, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
The list you see him holding below has hundreds of ingredients that are NOT allowed in the skincare products found at Whole Foods Market. The paper went down and unfolded onto the ground, the list of banned products was so long.
What you’ll notice from the Whole Body Quality Standards their vendors must comply with extend to the types of packaging and environment for their workers as well, insuring that you’re not only investing in your family’s long-term health but also investing in companies who care about their employees, the environment, and your well-being.
Whole Body Quality Standards
- They carefully evaluate each and every product they sell.
- They are passionate about aromatic, luxurious, effective personal care products and the pleasure of sharing them with others.
- They encourage their vendor partners to use plant-based and naturally-derived ingredients, pure essential oil fragrances, gentle preservatives and non-petroleum ingredients.
- They are committed to high-quality body care products that have a proven track record.
- They only sell personal care products that have not been tested on animals.
- They provide personal care products that support health and well-being.
Knowing that our skin absorbs things we put on it makes it all the more important to protect our skin and the skin of our kids. Shopping at Whole Foods Market gives parents the peace of mind, knowing that they’ve done all the research for you, so you can buy with confidence.
Here are just a few of the product lines they carry that I was able to sample at their store:
Aura Cacia provides aromatherapy products including essential oils and oil blends, including a skincare line and aromatherapy recipes to create your own lip balm or massage oil using a combination of scents.
Mineral Fusion provides skin nourishing, antioxidant-rich mineral make-up, hair and body care products as well as nail polish and sun care products.
This family-owned company has been around for five generations and continues to provide Castile Liquid Soaps as well as hand sanitizing spray, hair rinse and hair creme, bar soaps, lip and body balms, hand & body lotions and shaving gels. They also provide Virgin Coconut Oils in whole kernel or white kernel varieties. Learn more at the Dr. Bronner website.
By far, this was the brand that appealed to me most. The woman behind the brand, Evan Healy, is a holistic aesthetician who developed this skincare line based on her experience that the less you interfere with the skin’s own ability to achieve balance, the better.
Her skin looks phenomenal – she was there to share the product line with us at Whole Foods Market – and I was seriously blown away with how amazing her skin looked. She is anti anti-aging, recognizing that we are going to age, whether we like it or not, and encourages women and men to age with grace. Her silver hair and radiant skin makes me want to do whatever she says when it comes to taking care of my skin.
Evanhealy has products for all skin types, with their Rose Treatment, Blue Treatment, and Blemish Treatments. The kits each contain sample-sized products for seven to ten days of treatment, allowing you to see the difference before moving on to purchasing the full size products, all very reasonably priced, in my opinion.
